Laura Clamp’s imagery is often drawn from popular culture, such as magazines and films, as well as her own photography and drawings. She utilises a representational style to cross the boundaries between photography and painting. In addition, the language of painting facilitates the manipulation and distortion of the original image to give it a different reading. Each image, by the very nature of the act of painting, enters a fantasy world where everything can be controlled and contrived.
